Get your green on! It’s time to get ready and crochet Shamrock Hat for St. Patrick’s Day!
You will blend right in with this whimsical cone hat adorned with Shamrock leaf.

I use Caron Simply Soft Party white and green yarn for the hat, and hook size 5.00 mm. For Shamrock leaf I use Caron Simply Soft dark green yarn and hook size 6.00 mm.

The hat is worked from top to bottom and my hat measures appr 9.5 in height and 21 in around the bottom edge.
Abbreviations: ch = chain dc = double crochet sl st = slip stitch sc = single crochet hdc = half double crochet
Ch 4, join into ring with slip stitch.
Round 1 – ch 3 (counts as 1st dc) and dc 9 in the ring, sl st in 3rd ch – total 10 dc.
Round 2 – join white yarn with slip knot and ch 3, dc 2 in the next st, dc 1 in the next, keep increasing in every other st, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 15 dc.
Round 3 – bring your green yarn, sl st through white loop and pull white yarn tight around green. Ch 3, dc 2 in the next, dc 1 in the next, keep increasing in every other st, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 22 dc.
Round 4 – change to white yarn, sl st through green loop and pull green yarn tight around white. Ch 3, dc 1 in the next st, dc 2 in the next, keep increasing in every third st around, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 29 dc.
Round 5 – change to green yarn, ch 3, dc 1 in each next 2 st, dc 2 in the next, keep increasing in every fourth st around, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 36 dc.
Round 6 – change to white yarn, ch 3, dc 1 in the next st, dc 2 in the next, keep increasing in every third st around, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 48 dc.
Round 7 – change to green yarn, ch 3, dc 1 in each next 2 st, dc 2 in the next, keep increasing in every fourth st around, sl st in 3rd ch – total of 60 dc.
Rounds 8-10 – change color in each round, dc 1 in each st around – total of 60 dc.
Round 11 – change to green yarn, ch 3, dc 1 in each next 8 st, dc 2 in the 10th, keep increasing in every tenth st around, sl st in 3rd ch – total 66 dc.
Rounds 12-19 – change color in each round, dc 1 in each st around – total of 66 dc.
Edge – ch 3, dc in the first ch, skip 3 st, sc 1 in the next, repeat this all around, sl st in beg st and fasten off.
Shamrock leaf – ch 4, join into the ring with sl st.
Sl st in the ring, ch 5, sl st in the ring, ch 5, sl st in the ring, ch 5, sl st in the ring, ch 5, sl st in the ring.
Ch 8 for the stem, hdc 1 in the 3rd ch from hook, hdc 1 in next ch, sc 1 in each remaining 4 ch, sl st in the center ring.
Sl in the next 5-ch space, sc 1, hdc 2, dc 3, hdc 2, dc 3, hdc 2, sc 1, sl in center ring. Repeat 3 more times, finish with sl st in center ring and fasten off.
Attach the leaf on the hat and weave in all ends.
