Pinwheel doily is my red white blue project this year. Every year when 4th of July is approaching I start thinking about my favorite color combination. There are millions of ideas to try out and make your own. And so, seeing this doily pattern on Pinterest I immediately envisioned the series of red, white and blue round beauties.

And the idea turned to crochet project when I found the perfect thread for my Pinwheel crochet doily. I have used Lizbeth thread for most of my doilies because I love the color selection and thread quality. I found out that Lizbeth also offers the packages of color combinations and I think these are great for inspiration. I can say from my personal experience that vibrant colors and high quality materials really inspire most of my projects. Pinwheel crochet doily is made with Lizbeth patriotic threads.
The doily definitely needs blocking after you finish it. I usually make the doily wet, stretch it out on blocking mats and attach it with pins. I also spray some starch to give it extra firm shape. Check out this helpful post about blocking crochet.
