Red, white, and blue crochet projects have become a special part of my handmade collections and tutorials, reflecting my own American journey. The United States has been my second home since I arrived in 2000, and one of the things I appreciate most about this country is the opportunity to follow your passions and create your own path. Being able to build a life, pursue my creative dreams, and do the work I love here is something I hoped for many years – and a reminder that some dreams really do come true.
Because of that, the colors red, white, and blue hold a special meaning for me. They represent both important moments in American history and the spirit of celebration, freedom, and possibility. With Independence Day just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to gather my favorite patriotic crochet projects in one place. I hope these red, white, and blue creations inspire your own crochet projects and help you add a handmade touch to your celebrations.
1. STAR-SPANGLED ROSETTE

The Star-Spangled Rosette is one of my newest patriotic crochet designs, created with raffia ribbon in classic red, white, and blue. The pattern features a beautiful spiral center and playful fringe made with slip stitch loops, creating a festive pinwheel-inspired look. It can be used in many ways – as a spinner, coaster, table decoration, wall art, or even a fridge magnet. Best of all, it’s easy to customize in different sizes, making it a fun and versatile project for Independence Day celebrations and beyond.
2. AMERICAN WINE TOTE
This patriotic wine tote is made with Lily Sugar’n Cream Ombre yarn, which creates beautiful swirling stripes that wrap naturally around the bottle. The gradual color changes add visual interest while keeping the project simple and enjoyable to crochet. One of the things I love most about this pattern is its versatility. The red, white, and blue version is perfect for Independence Day celebrations, summer gatherings, and festive gift-giving, while a second version in different colors creates a completely different look and feel using the exact same pattern. It’s a great example of how a simple color change can transform a crochet project.

3. PINWHEEL DOILY
These Pinwheel Doilies were inspired by Lizbeth’s patriotic crochet thread set. I made three separate doilies – one red, one white, and one blue – to create a simple yet striking patriotic display. The pinwheel motif adds beautiful texture and movement, while the solid colors allow the stitch pattern to stand out. Together, they make charming decorations for summer celebrations, holiday tables, or everyday Americana-inspired décor.

4. BABY GIRL DRESS & HEADBAND
This adorable red, white, and blue baby dress started as a vision the moment I discovered the pattern. I immediately imagined the ruffled skirt in patriotic colors paired with a crisp white bodice for a fresh summer look. Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour yarn was the perfect choice, adding a subtle sparkle with its delicate metallic threads woven throughout the yarn. The finished dress was such a hit that one of my coworkers fell in love with it and purchased it for her two-year-old granddaughter, along with the matching flower headband. I couldn’t think of a sweeter compliment for a handmade creation.

5. RED WHITE BLUE THROW
Another favorite patriotic project is this red, white, and blue crochet throw. When I came across a giant ball of Buttercream Rainbow Boucle Yarn, I knew it would be perfect for creating a cozy blanket with festive colors. The self-striping yarn does all the work, creating beautiful bands of red, white, and blue that make this throw a cheerful addition to patriotic home décor, summer gatherings, or holiday celebrations.

6. ANOTHER WINE TOTE
The inspiration for this wine tote came from Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour yarn, whose rich colors and delicate shimmer seemed perfect for a festive, gift-worthy project.

7. RED WHITE BLUE MASON JAR COVERS
Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour yarn also inspired these red, white, and blue mason jar covers. The subtle shimmer in the yarn adds a festive touch, while the patriotic colors make them perfect for summer celebrations. I especially love displaying them outdoors with small candles inside, where they create a warm and inviting glow on summer evenings.
