I finished working on my next two kits from Annie’s Caring Crochet Club and I’m ready to share my feedback with you!
PRETTY FLORET SCARF
Beautiful pink blend of cotton and bamboo yarn was wonderful to work with. I used bigger crochet hook (4 mm) than recommended by the pattern (2.75 mm) to get the correct gauge. Otherwise the pattern was easy to follow and the skill level was also easy. I liked that the kit included two shades of pink yarn, so I made two scarves. And when finished I stretched them wet on my blocking squares with pins. Blocking gave the scarves beautiful defined shape. Watch my video for more:
I donated my scarves to the featured organization Handmade Especially For You:
Handmade Especially for You wants every woman who comes into a shelter to receive a comfort scarf simply because she was brave enough to leave her abusive situation. The organization does not see comfort scarves as rewards or incentives for good behavior in the shelter or anything other than “congratulations” for leaving abuse. Handmade wants to make an impact on the women who receive the scarves, most of whom have never received a personal gift. The scarves will hopefully help lift their self-esteem and help them to begin changing their lives.

MERRY GO ‘ROUND THE BLOCK Baby Blanket
This is the second baby blanket in Annie’s Caring Crochet Kit Club. It’s definitely a great item for charities and always so enjoyable to crochet. For me, it was a whole new way to crochet granny-square style and that’s what I like so much about the Caring Crochet Club: I get to learn so many new crochet skills while making something lovely for people in need. I didn’t make a video review of this kit because I was too anxious to open the bag and get started with the blanket. The pattern instructions were great, skill level easy and I used just 2 of the three yarn skeins included in the kit. I was very happy with the finished blanket and I donated it to the featured charity called Binky Patrol.
Binky Patrol was founded in 1996 in an effort to provide children in hospitals and shelters nationwide with a handmade binky.
