To crochet the spiderweb jar cover you will need size 3 crochet thread (I used DMC crochet thread) and 2 crochet hooks – 2.75mm and 2mm.
Abbreviations: ch = chain dc = double crochet st = stitch hdc = half double crochet beg = beginning
- Start with magic ring (the video shows how to do that).
- Row 1 – ch 3 (counts as first dc) and crochet 11 dc in the ring – total 12 dc.
- Row 2 – ch 3, dc in same st, and dc twice in each remaining 11 dc – total 24 dc.
- Row 3 – ch 3, dc in same st, and dc twice in each 23 dc – total 48 dc.
- Row 4 – ch 2 and hdc 1 in each dc – total 48 hdc.
- Row 5 – ch 2 and hdc 1 in each hdc back loop – total 48 hdc.
- Row 6 – ch 1, sc in same st, sc 1 in each next 2 hdc, ch 6, skip 6 hdc, dc twice in next hdc + ch 1 + dc twice again in same hdc, ch 6, skip 6 hdc, *sc 1 in each next 3 hdc, ch 6, skip 6 hdc, dc 2 in next hdc + ch 1 + dc 2 in next hdc, ch 6, skip 6 hdc*, repeat ** twice more, sl st in first ch of row.
- Row 7 – ch 1, sc in same sc and sc 1 in each next 2 sc, ch 6, dc 2 into 1-ch space of previous row + ch + dc 2 in the same space, ch 6, *sc 1 in each next 3 sc, ch 6,  dc 2 into 1-ch space + ch 1 + dc 2 in the same space, ch 6*, repeat ** twice more, sl st in first ch of row.
- Row 8 – repeat row 7
- Row 9 – sl st in second sc of 3-sc cluster, ch 3, dc 1 in same sc + ch 1 + dc 2 in same sc, ch 6, *sc 3 in 1-ch space between dc’s of previous row, ch 6, dc 2 in second sc of 3-sc cluster + ch 1 + dc 2 in same sc, ch 6*, repeat ** twice more, sl st in 3rd ch of beginning chain.
- Rows 10 and 11 – repeat row 9
- Rows 12 to 14 – repeat row 7
- Rows 15 to 17 – repeat row 9
- Rows 18 to 20 – repeat row 7
Crochet total of 15 rows of spiderweb pattern.
- Row 21 – ch 2 and hdc 1 in each next 2 sc, sc 4 in 6-ch space, sc in first dc, sc in 1-ch space, sc in last dc, sc 4 in 6-ch space, *hdc 1 in each next 3 sc, sc 4 in 6-ch space, sc in first dc, sc in 1- ch space, sc in last dc, sc 4 in 6-ch space*, repeat ** five more times, sl in beg 2-ch top.
- Row 22 – ch 2, hdc 1 in each 41 st around, sl in beg 2-ch top.
- Rows 23 and 24 – repeat row 19
- Row 25 – ch 1, reverse sc in each hdc, this is a good point to refer to my video of how to add a charm while crocheting reverse sc. First crochet 4 reverse sc, add charm to next reverse sc, 4 reverse sc, add charm to next, 4 reverse sc, add charm to next, 10 reverse sc, add charm to next, 4 reverse sc, add charm to next, 4 reverse sc, add charm to next, 6 reverse st, fasten off and weave in thread.
