In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the entire process of crocheting the Twilight Braids Bag, from creating the base to adding the distinctive braided texture and finishing touches. This project is designed for intermediate crocheters who are comfortable working with nylon cord and ready to expand their crochet skills with a fun and rewarding accessory.

Below you’ll find both the step-by-step video tutorial and the written crochet pattern to help you complete your own Twilight Braids Bag with confidence. Gather your supplies and let’s get started!

WRITTEN PATTERN OF TWILIGHT BRAIDS BAG

MATERIALS
  • 400 yards of 1.5mm nylon cord available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4fj7ED6
  • 3.75mm crochet hook
  • Leather snap buckle: https://amzn.to/3RXjfhj
  • Leather strap: https://amzn.to/3RTc6i0

  • Tapestry needle, blunt sewing needle

My bag measures about 9 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall.

Abbreviations
ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch
ch-sp = chain space
beg = beginning
yo = yarn over
dc = double crochet
bpdc = back post double crochet
sk = skip

Special stitches:
- Beg puff st = pull the working loop longer, (yo, insert hook in indicated space, yo, pull up a loop) 3 times, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
- Puff st = (yo, insert hook in indicated space, yo, pull up a loop) 4 times, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
- bpdc = yo, insert hook from back to front to back again around the post of next st, yo, pull the loop through st, 3 loops on hook, (yo and pull through 2 loops on hook) twice.
