I finished the second beautiful mandala from the book of Modern Crochet Mandala by Interweave. This one is called Puffs and Picots and it’s designed by Sandra Eng.
It is made with one color in the book but I decided to use the two pretty contrasting colors – blue and yellow. The yellow one is DMC Senso crochet thread size 3, and I don’t know the name of the blue one because I bought the yarn a while ago and displaced the label. Interestingly, they are both the same size with fine sparkly thread woven in.
As with the first mandala Purple Reign I used both written instructions and the chart and I found both helpful. I was very happy to see the mandala turn out so wonderful with two colors:
I definitely recommend this book to learn to crochet mandalas. The designs are adorable, some are classic, some are floral, some even geometrical or other shapes, it’s a great choice! I intend to make quite a few more.
