How to crochet Sweet Pea Doily

June 30, 2019

Here is my next crochet doily tutorial. It is called Sweet Pea Doily and the design is from an old French magazine. This will make a beautiful decoration in summer style.

crochet doily

I would say the skill level to crochet this doily is from easy to intermediate. There are some techniques to learn and practice here but once you have finished one doily, it’s easy to make the next.

Watch my video tutorial to make one of your own and follow the written pattern for extra help. Hopefully you will find helpful tips in both. And let me know if you have any questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

The doily definitely needs blocking when you are finished. I like to use spray starch because it gives my doily nice firm shape but you can also just make it wet and then stretch it out. I put pins in each corner picot and let it dry overnight.

I use size 10 crochet thread and size 1.75mm crochet hook (1.5mm is ok too). The doily measures about 14 to 14.5 inches in diameter.
