It’s easy to add holiday spirit to any room with the Reindeer Pillow. I love to see these graceful jumping reindeers on my couch, so I invite you to join me crocheting the Reindeer Pillow.
With this pattern you will learn or practice tapestry crochet technique. It’s an easy method to use contrast colors and single crochet stitches to create beautiful images. And my Reindeer Pillow is a great project to practice the technique because it’s easy and in my video tutorial I will show exactly how to work with two colors of yarn.
I will also show you the “crochet knit stitch” to create the ‘knitted look’ with single crochet stitches. And check out the Reindeer chart below to crochet the front of the pillow.

I use 2 colors of Lion Brand Basic Stitch yarn – Grass (color A) and White (color B). One ball has 185yds/170m, You will need total of 300yds for the pillow, so 2 balls of color A and 1 ball of color B. Content of the yarn is 100% acrylic. Crochet hook is size 5 mm. You’ll also need 10×10 inch pillow insert and tapestry needle for sewing the seams.
In case you want to use a different yarn, check out this great source for yarn substitution.
