This pattern reminds me of the pretty Christmas plant, so I decided to call it a Poinsettia Doily. The designer of this pattern is unknown, it’s a free diagram online. It will make a pretty Christmas decoration on any table!
The skill level to crochet Poinsettia Doily is intermediate and with this pattern you will learn or practice front post double crochet stitch.
The doily definitely needs blocking after you finish it. I usually make the doily wet, stretch it out on blocking mats and attach it with pins. I also spray some starch to give it extra firm shape. Let it dry completely before removing the pins. In the video tutorial I show exactly how to block the Poinsettia Doily!

WRITTEN PATTERN OF POINSETTIA DOILY
I use Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread size 10. Colors in tutorial are Frosty Green (color A), Myrtle Green (color B) and Cardinal (color C). One ball has 350 yards and for the main color red it’s enough. Crochet hook is 1.75 mm. My doily measures about 12 inches in diameter.
Abbreviations: ch = chain sl st = slip stitch dc = double crochet beg = beginning tr = triple crochet
Special stitches: fpdc = yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front again around the post of the indicated st, yarn over, pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook, (yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook) twice ch3-picot = ch 3 and sl st in 1st ch fpdc4tog = (yarn over, insert hook around the post of the indicated st, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through first 2 loops) 4 times, yarn over and pull through 5 loops on hook
