The Festive Table Runner will brighten up any table. And we all need that extra doze of sparkle and joy as we celebrate holidays this year.
The idea for the Festive Table Runner came to me at my local yarn store when I spotted the sample swatch of Aunt Lydia’s Metallic Gold. It was a simple square of single crochet rows, and it looked so pretty. Sometimes the most simple things are the most beautiful!
I was instantly inspired to make something to include the single crochet rows and the natural thing seemed to create a table runner. I like these long narrow crochet table decor pieces because they add so much elegance and beauty to many different types of surfaces.
The table runner definitely needs blocking after you finish it. I usually make the piece wet, stretch it out on blocking mats and attach it with pins. I also spray some starch to give it extra firm shape. Let it dry completely before removing the pins.
