Classic Christmas Ornament

December 6, 2020

Classic Christmas Ornament is a great last-minute gift idea because it works up quickly and it’s not difficult to make.

Even if you don’t have plastic or glass balls at hand, you can use some old ornaments.

My ornament measures about 10 inches in diameter, 3.4 inches from top to bottom, so it’s good to find somewhat same size ball.

The Classic Christmas Ornament is worked in 3 steps starting with the bottom half and contrast color stripe. The upper half is made separately, then attached to lower part. Final step is to make and attach the hanging string.

I use Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread size 10 – red and green as main colors, and Metallic white as contrast color. The gold ball is made with Metallic gold and white.

Crochet hook is size 1.75 mm. And you will need medium size plastic or glass ball, about 10 inches in circumference.
