My next Annie’s Caring Crochet Club Kit is quite special – it teaches me to make these two adorable Teddy Bears:
I made the two bears simultaneously. So first I made the two heads, two muzzles, then two bodies, four ears, four arms and four legs. Then I tried to distribute the stuffing evenly between the two bears and sewed all the parts together. I would say the most challenging part was attaching the parts. I used some extra stitches to tighten the connection. And holding the two strands together I ran out of the yarn provided in the kit. That’s why my darker bear has three shades of brown because I couldn’t find the exact same color in the store.
So this has definitely been the most extensive work I’ve done on a volunteer project, except for maybe some big blankets I’ve made before. But the result is really wonderful and I’m kind of sad to part ways with these adorable teddies.
I have to say I am not the biggest fan of crocheting toys and figures, but this was a great experience. The instructions on the pattern sheet are great, so I could be inclined to make a few more of these if anyone is interested.
I will donate my bears to recommended organization called Gleaning For The World. They have many different wonderful and worthy causes but my teddies will go to Teddy Bear Brigade that specializes in helping children in distress in every part of our world.
