The story of signature crochet bag

My signature crochet bag line started out with this fun pink green one.

I wanted to find sturdy and vibrant yarn for my new purse project and found Lion Brand 24/7 cotton in colors of my logo. And so the first bag of the line was born.

The colors remind me of a classic American retro diner with green tables and pink counters.

The crochet bag is something of a retro-style accessory as well.

Lion Brand 24/7 cotton color selection allows for fun matching and I prefer to keep 2 colors max to bring out the contrasts.

As I found more color combinations – brown/aqua blue is one the most popular ones – the bag itself improved as well. I upgraded the simple unlined beach bag to sturdy everyday lined bag that can hold more than just lightweight items.

The next upgrade was to add magnetic snap to keep the bag closed. It was a request from customer when we discussed the colors and features of the bag she chose for herself. I’m grateful of the feedback from my customers and I’m always open to new suggestions to improve my products.

And the latest feature created again by customer request are the crochet cord handles instead of microfiber braided ready-made handles. I find both options very fitting for this bag. The silver ring braided ready-made handles add modern look to the bag, and then again the crochet cord handles say “handmade from head to toe” 🙂

So there are always options which makes the handmade business so fun, each item can be designed and created uniquely responding to customer preferences. And my signature crochet bag line has enjoyed quite a bit of popularity as a result.
