WRITTEN PATTERN OF SNOWFLAKE COIN PURSE
MATERIALS
- Yarn: you will need 30 grams light 3 / DK (preferably) cotton yarn. The yarn used in tutorial is Patons Grace cotton yarn
- Crochet hook size 3 mm
- 85 beads size 4 mm
- 4 in / 11 cm coin purse with 56 holes
- Stitch marker
- Sewing needle
Abbreviations: sc = single crochet sl st = slip stitch ch = chain
Pattern notes:
– The purse is made in continuous rounds.
– Move the stitch marker in the 1st sc as you add the rounds.
– Beads are added on the back of the piece, and when finished crocheting, the piece is turned inside out.
PURSE BASE
- Use sewing needle to add 85 beads on the yarn.
- Make a magic ring:
- Round 1 = sc 6 in the ring.
- Round 2 = sc 2 in each sc (12 sc), insert stitch marker in 1st sc.
- Round 3 = sc 1 in first sc, sc 2 in next sc, *sc 1 in next sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (18 sc).
- Round 4 = *sc 1 in next 2 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (24 sc).
- Round 5 = *sc 1 in next 3 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (30 sc).
- Round 6 = *sc 1 in next 4 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (36 sc).
- Round 7 = *sc 1 in next 5 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (42 sc).
- Round 8 = *sc 1 in next 6 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (48 sc).
- Round 9 = *sc 1 in next 7 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (54 sc).
- Round 10 = *sc 1 in next 8 sc, sc 2 in next sc, repeat from* (60 sc).
PURSE

- Rounds 1-2 = sc in each sc (60 sc).
- Round 3 = sc in 12 sc, pull up loop in 13th sc, move 1st bead next to stich on the back, yarn over and finish sc, sc in next 5 sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 4 = sc in 12 sc, add a bead with next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc, add a bead with next 2 sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 5 = sc in 12 sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 6 = sc in 9 sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 2 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 2 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 7 = sc in 10 sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 8 = sc in 7 sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next 3 sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 9 = sc in 6 sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next 5 sc, add a bead with next 3 sc, sc in next 5 sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in next sc, add a bead with next sc, sc in each next sc.
- Round 10 = repeat round 8.
- Round 11 = repeat round 7.
- Round 12 = repeat round 6.
- Round 13 = repeat round 5.
- Round 14 = repeat round 4.
- Round 15 = repeat round 3.
- Rounds 16-18 = sc in each sc.
- Sl st in next sc, cut off yarn with 42-inch tail, fasten off.
ATTACHING FRAME
- Using the long tail and tapestry needle first insert needle from back to front through 1st st.
- Place the frame behind last round stitches, insert needle from front to back through 1st st and 1st hole of frame, then insert needle from back to front through 2nd hold of frame and 2nd st, repeat stitches until the last hole on 1st side of frame.
- Insert needle from front to back through next st, then back to front through next st (=2 stitches in corner).
- Repeat second side of frame and second corner.
- Stitch around the frame second time inserting needle in opposite direction = instead of front to back insert needle from back to front through 1st hole and 1st st, then front to back through 2nd st and 2nd hole, etc.
- Weave in the ends.
