The Rose Gold Table Runner is the perfect pick if you’re all about spicing up your dining area or making an event look fancy. It’s got a gorgeous, shiny look that grabs everyone’s attention, and it is quite easy to crochet! Whether you’re a beginner or have been at it for years, this project is a fun one to tackle. The cool rose gold color brings a classy vibe to any table.
I use a stitch called ‘shells and picots’ and two colors of thread to crochet the Rose Gold Table Runner. The stitch itself is easy, but it asks to cut off thread at the end of each row to start the next one with the next color. This option definitely doesn’t work for me, since I don’t want to spend hours on weaving in all the ends. So I figured out a way to change colors without cutting off thread. Please see my video tutorial, if you’d like to do the same.
The Rose Gold Table Runner definitely needs blocking after you finish it. I usually make the the piece wet, stretch it out on blocking mats and attach it with pins. I also spray some starch to give it extra firm shape. Let it dry completely before removing the pins.

I use 2 balls of Golo crochet thread size 10 (ball size 250 yds). Colors in tutorial are Gold (color A) and Meat Pink (color B). Crochet hook is size 1.75 mm. My table runner measures about 8 inches wide and 28 inches long.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
ch-sp = chain space
dc = double crochet
yo = yarn over
sl st = slip stitch
beg = beginning
Special stitches:
Shell with picot = dc 2 in indicated stitch, ch 3 and sl st in dc below, dc 2 in same stitch.
Dc2-cl = (yo, insert hook in indicated space, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through first 2 loops) twice, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook.
Ch3-picot = ch 3, sl st in dc below.
Pattern notes:
- The pattern is multiple of 6 + 2, so for each additional repeat add 6 chains.
- 1ch in beginning of row doesn't count as stitch.
- Don't cut off thread when you change colors.
- With color A ch 62 (=10 repeats of pattern).

- Row 3 = with color A ch 7 (counts as 1st dc and 4ch), turn, *sc around next sc on row 2 (= insert hook through ch9-sp under sc of color B and complete sc around it), ch 9, repeat from*, end the row with ch 4, dc in 3rd beg ch, insert stitch marker in color A loop, don’t turn.
- Row 4 = in beg of row insert hook through 3rd beg ch, pull color B through, ch, sc in same st, *ch, shell with picot in next sc, ch, sc in next 9ch-sp, repeat from*, end the row with ch, shell with picot in last sc, ch, sc in last st – join color A (= take stitch marker out of color A loop, insert hook through it and pull it through color B loop on hook, insert hook through st below, holding both threads yo and pull through loops on hook), leave color B on the back.
- Row 5 = with color A ch 9, turn, *sc around next sc on row 4, ch 9, repeat from*, end the row with sc in last st, insert stitch marker in color A loop, don’t turn.
- Repeat rows 2-5 for desired length of table runner, end with 2nd row repeat, cut off color B.
- Last row = with color A ch, sc in 1st st, ch 3, *sc around next sc on previous row, ch 5, repeat from*, sc around last sc, ch 3, sc in 3rd beg ch, don’t cut off.
