The Jingle Bells Tree Skirt definitely needs blocking after you finish it. I usually make the piece wet, stretch it out on blocking mats and attach it with pins. I also spray some starch to give it extra firm shape. Let it dry completely before removing the pins.

WRITTEN PATTERN OF JINGLE BELLS TREE SKIRT
I used 3 colors of crochet thread size 10 and my tree skirt measures about 17 inches in diameter, so it’s for a small tree. You can definitely experiment with thicker threads or yarns to make it bigger.
MATERIALS:
- Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread size 10 Red (color A) – 30 yards
- Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread size 10 White (color B) – 50 yards
- Aunt Lydia’s Metallic thread size 10 Gold (color C) – 350 yards
- Crochet hook size 1.75 mm
Abbreviatons:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet
beg = beginning
sp = space
Pattern notes:
The tree skirt is made in two parts:
1. Rounds 1-12 with colors A and B
2. Rounds 1-22 on the filet crochet chart (below) with colors C and B
NB! I skipped the last round 22 on the chart.
- With color A ch 10, sl st in 1st ch to make a ring.
- Round 1 = ch 3 (counts as 1st dc throughout), dc 31 in the ring (32 dc), sl st in 3rd beg ch.
