Looking for a cozy, modern crochet hat that’s simple to make but full of texture? The Cedar Hat is a timeless beanie pattern designed for everyday wear, whether you’re making it for yourself or gifting it to someone special.
This pattern is beginner-friendly and works up quickly, using easy-to-memorize crossed half double crochet stitches that create a beautiful, subtle texture. The Cedar Hat has a classic fit with just the right amount of stretch, making it comfortable and versatile for different head sizes and styles.

The name Cedar Hat was inspired by the evergreen trees here in the Pacific Northwest—tall, textured, and quietly timeless. Living in the PNW, I’m constantly surrounded by their deep greens and calm, cozy feel, and I wanted this hat to reflect that same sense of warmth and simplicity.
